PARTICIPATE IN THE DIR

The Dental Implant Registry (DIR) provides a structured framework for dental practices to record implant and prosthetic information in a secure, centralised system. Participation supports continuity of care, responsible data stewardship, and ethics board approved research, without altering clinical autonomy or existing workflows.

10,000+ IMPLANT COMPONENTS REGISTERED!

PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATION

Dental implants and prosthetic components are intended to function over extended periods of time. However, implant-related information may become fragmented due to patient mobility, clinician changes, practice closure, or evolving implant systems.

The DIR allows your practice to:

Provide a secure, centralised record of dental implant and prosthetic information

Support continuity of care when patients move between practices or clinicians

Assist with identification of implant information when records are unavailable

Enable ethically approved research and analysis of implant treatments over time

Contribute to the development of evidence-based knowledge in implant dentistry

Participation is voluntary and is intended to complement existing clinical record-keeping systems.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Participation is open to:

  • Dental practices placing and/or restoring dental implants

  • General dental practices and specialist dental practices

Participation is undertaken at the practice level, with registration completed by a nominated practice owner or authorised representative responsible for implant records.
